A man from Busti is bringing those fields back.

From the Town of Busti to his own business

Tiny Larson used to work for the Town of Busti. In May 2021 he left his steady job and started his own business from scratch, and he named it T&L, for Tiny and his daughter, Laura.

They call him Tiny, but there’s nothing tiny about the business he runs today.

T&L Services of WNY runs a whole fleet of heavy equipment, with excavators, loaders, trucks, and the trailers to move it all. They work across Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties and into Pennsylvania, and Tiny built all of it one job at a time.

What T&L does

T&L clears land by the acre, digs foundations, cuts in driveways, and fixes ground where water won’t drain. A big part of the work is forestry mulching, where Tiny drives a machine into acres of land nobody has walked on in years and grinds the brush into wood chips right where it stands.

The old way is to cut everything down, pile it up, and then burn it or truck it away. That takes longer, costs more, and leaves bare dirt that turns to mud. Tiny’s way gets it done in one pass, and the wood chips stay on the ground to protect the soil.

When he’s done, the owner can walk their own land again, and sometimes a family builds a home there.

So the next time you see a field that looks like a field again, it might have been a man from Busti named Tiny.
